When farmers and foresters are facing various problems, both economic and environmental, social farming and forestry tend to put the human factor at the heart of the approach. These projects provide the opportunity for vulnerable people - who have a physical or mental disability, struggling, suffering from addictions, or just need to revitalize themselves - to be welcomed and blossom in a different context, on the farm or in a natural environment facilitating their social inclusion or their socio-professional integration. Many projects demonstrate the benefits of these initiatives both in Wallonia and Europe. This seminar is an opportunity to highlight them and talk about the emergence, development and outlook of social farming and social forestry.
