ENRD Thematic Group on 'Bioeconomy and Climate Action in Rural Areas'
The activities of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) around the bioeconomy will continue until mid-July 2020, with a strengthened focus on climate action in rural areas. The first meeting of the TG on 'Bioeconomy and Climate Action in rural areas' takes place on 25 September, 2019, in Brussels. The draft agenda of the meeting is available here.
The objective of this meeting is to discuss the areas within the rural bioeconomy that have most potential to produce climate outcomes, such as reductions in GHG emissions, and carbon sequestration or conservation. The meeting will also discuss the necessary actions to ensure that such climate outcomes can be valorised and upscaled in bio-based value chains and in rural activities. The meeting will launch the TG's work to identify and disseminate the available support approaches, in particular in the context of the CAP and the Rural Development programmes, to promote rural climate action within the bioeconomy.
Please express your interest to participate in this meeting through this link by 5 September the latest. The confirmations of attendance will be sent soon after the registration is closed. We kindly remind you not to make any travel arrangements before receiving the confirmation mail.
Background materials supporting the meeting and the final agenda will be circulated before the meeting.
